You cannot vote until you are 18, but once you are 16 or over you can register to vote online by going to:

It only takes a few minutes to fill out your details and you will then be able to vote at any election after your 18th birthday.

To vote you need to go to the polling station on Election Day - your polling card will tell you at what times it is open.
Tell the staff your name and address and you will be given a BALLOT PAPER. This tells you how to cast your vote.
Often it is as simple as putting a cross next to the candidate that you want to vote for, but some elections work differently.
You cast your vote in a POLLING BOOTH so that other people cannot see who you are voting for and you then place your ballot paper into the BALLOT BOX.
